English dated embroidered band sampler 1664 stumpwork silk threads 17th century

One of the best English embroidered Find samplers we have ever had

Good use of polychrome silk Decoration with bands of interlocking flowers geometric Motif Oak leaves acorns and oak trees 3/4 of the way down is the alphabet followed by the makers initials MB 1664 And one of the most beautiful embroidered fishes I have ever seen on a band sampler next to the date lower is a lace type decoration with three intricate bands lower

Condition is superb. It has a tiny tear on the left hand panel which Hardly shows , a note on the frame back tells this was caused by Shrapnell from a high explosive bomb in World War II

No other damage slight fading to the colours framed and ready to hang and in superb condition with no loose thread
